Get to Know Your Station
Thank you for adopting a Handy Station!
We are still in the late prototyping stages of this unique local collaboration. Your participation and feedback are essential to the evolution of this project design and technologies. Please contact us often with your observations and feedback. We are continuing to upgrade the stations by integrating your ideas! Thank you!

As an adoptive business these are the things you need to pay attention to:
Keep it clean. Wipe the station down a few times per day and keep it dry. We have stuck a balance between design, local sourcing, affordability and durability. Plywood is sealed, but doesn’t like water.
Keep it charged. The battery bank powers the electronics and the speaker. Charge the battery once per week at a minimum. Be sure to unplug the two USB cords at the end of your day to preserve the battery.
Keep it filled. The dispenser window is clear so you can see when more sanitizer is needed. Only use alcohol-based sanitizer, as the pump will fail otherwise. You will received a half gallon of Saxton River Distillery Sanitizer with your station. We will continue to seek funding to replenish this. Please notify us when you are low.
Keep it safe. Bring the station inside in inclement weather and bring the station inside at the end of your work day. These stations will walk away if you don’t.
Give us timely feedback. We are still in a learning curve with these stations, particularly the electronics. Please give us feedback about the user experience and the functioning of the stations.
Daily Routine
We are doing our best to simplify the process for you as the Adoptive Business. Again, your feedback will help with this. Please familiarize your co-workers the “Daily Routine” lists. The two most important things to remember are: Bring the Station inside at night or during inclement weather; and, Turn off the Station at night to conserve battery juice.
Daily set-up:
Wipe it down.
Check the sanitizer level.
Plug in the two USB cords (one for speaker, one for electronics) to the power bank. You will see a green light on the nose of the dispenser. Then lock cabinet door closed.
Turn on speaker. You will see a green light go on. Check volume level.
Move station into place.
Daily closing:
Wipe it down.
Check the sanitizer level.
Unplug in the two USB cords (one for speaker, one for electronics). Then lock cabinet door closed.
Turn off speaker.
Store station inside.
Press the power button on the battery to see charge indicator lights. Charge battery, if needed.
Here’s a video describing the basics of the Handy Station.
Stay tuned for an updated video as we continue to improve each station.
