Education

Take a peek at the Water Way(s) in-school arts residency with Academy School 4th and 6th graders in spring of 2022 & 2023 and with 4th graders at Green Street School in academic years 2023 and 2024.

Water Way(s) is centered on both the ways that rivers move and the ways we understand and relate to rivers past and present. The curriculum is steeped in indigenous, ecological, and environmental watershed studies. We will focus our studies on the Whetstone Brook (Kitadowôganisibosis) and the restored floodplain at 250 Birge Street.

Water Way(s) is based in watershed education—water health, movement, botany, biology, history and culture. We’ll dive into the essential teaching practices of arts-based, place-based and project-based learning.
